It was a great day in Cass Park. James Lawton's sculpture "Pink Landscape—Three Trusses Plus" was successfully restored to its proper color with the help of several volunteers. Thank you to everyone who came out to help; and to those who wanted to be there but couldn't. Also thanks to everyone who made this possible through their generous donations.
First priming.
Then painting.

Excellent!! For a nanosecond or two, all is right with the universe. Hats off to the OMS art posse.
ReplyDeleteNice! Drove by tonight on Temple. Looks great. Wish I could have been there in the prime moments of refurbishment. Geezer art love.

I like the Guernsey Landscape -- Three Trusses Plus in the middle there. Good work OMS! And thanks for the quick post. Some of us are OMS junkies now, we need that fix.

ps, LtDan? LtDan? Not all of God's work is done inside of the chapel on Sunday's ya know. You could have experienced plenty of outdoor ministries today while watching the primer dry.
That rocks, great work. Thanks for the update!

ReplyDeleteLtDan? yes, I am LtD. However there is no gump here. Fact is, I am in "Detroit 9000" and died in the line of duty, in Detroit :P. Outdoor ministry would have been great but MIL Vinetta doesn't visit often. Church and cooking storm of Panamanian tamale, empanada, coconut rice and beans and from scratch tortias needed to be made, shared and put in the recipe book. I was hoping for a PINK Saturday. Will try to make the next art intervention.
No worries LtD. In this city we have plenty of opportunities for PINK Saturdays. There will be more, rest assured.
